autumn fairy
This outfit is my outfit for halloween and i have been working on it all month.
My brother was kind enough to agree to take these wonderful pictures of me in my costume at the lovely balboa park.
here's a little description of how i made my mischievous little autumn fairy costume.
I started by hand sewing glittered leaves to a handmade corset made the skirt and then thought it would be prettier as a dress so i made it into a dress instead. I sculpted the wings and put organza fabric over the wire frame. then I glittered the outer edges in gold glitter and i then hand painted the wings in a vein and flower design.and then the crown i made out of autumn berry garland.
I have also entered my costume in the instructables handmade halloween costume contest!

There will also be a video coming in the next couple of days i will post it on youtube and then put a link to it here.

This lovely mask is made with velvety dahlia petals and matching dahlia leaves, to make a beautiful red cardinal bird mask for any queen to feel royal about.
(ok i'm done i better hurry and return it to her before she turns me into and ice cube.)

glowing firefly second edition for halloween
I added orange flowers and matching green leaves to make it more autumn inspired and girly and i think it work . for the boy fairies just don't add the flowers. and you'll be on fire. hahaha
To the sea i go
I drug my hubby along to take pictures and video if you would like to see my videos click the title and it will take you there. He got some lovely ones if i say so myself.
(this picture one was taken at the snorkeling cove) Since it is octorber and all, i made sure i went on one of the warmer days hahah the water was still freezing. It was 77 outside that day and the water in la jolla stays about 76 all year round lol so you can even go in decamber that wouls be and interesting christmas picture.
We went to the la jolla coves in la jolla california and when we got there and walked to one of the many beaches (pictures above and below are at the tide pools) we discovered the most beautiful colors of green and red kelp and sealife were everywere to be seen! (we have never been out to the coves so late in the year before usely we go in the spring and summer when you can see the baby seals) it was beautiful!
This picture was fun to take i had to crawl out to this rock in the middle of the tide pools and hope that i didn't get hit by a wave lol

Just look at there coats aren't they just beautiful! they are sisters who have been together there whole life's in there wonderful habitat at the park.(hey three sisters reminds me of the three fates of greek mythology)
Next we visited the cabrillo national monument. here i was snaping away lots of pictures of beautiful waves and cute little sea birds.
This is a picture of one of the many beautiful local art statues on habor drive.
This is also the entrance to the maritime museum. where there is a pirate ship, submaire, and the star of india to explore!
Next we walked the cute and cozy streets of seaport village where they have lots of cute little shops and resterants and of course the view.
Then we took a boat across the bay to coronado island where we walked on the fishing pier and took a rest at a yummy italain resterant to have lunch.

second day of mersdays in july
When Imade this necklace it reminded me of three suns, which of course reminded me of the disney movie the little mermaid. It was my favorite disney movie when i was a kid and still is.
In the movie Ariel visits the sea witch, Ursula, to trade her voice for legs, but the witch only gives her three days in order to get a chance to win Eric's heart.

first day of mersday
This gorgues teal fin is my new project and i'm in love with it. I've already worn it in the pool (as you can see) about a hundred time's I love my new tail! swimming in it feels like your flying and I feel pretty hot in it to. lol
This is the first tail I have ever made and I wanted it to be pretty under the water as well as out of it. So when I cut the fluke (end) of the tail I cut it jagged so it would look like a fish, and the only fish I ever had growing up was a beta. hence the flowy beta style tail. It looks very much like a beta fish tail in the water to so i have achieved what I wanted. a beautiful teal beta fish tail. funny story about the fabrics. I went to pic out fabric that would look good as a mermaids tail (even thought I had no idea what color would) and I had origanaly wanted to make a yellow tail like a gold fish. so I could have a lilly pad bra. (in the making) but instead I found this gorgues teal and I LOVE teal so I had to get it. and come to find out it matched perfect to my swimsuit.
I thought it was funny I didn't plan to get matching fabric it just happened that way. It was fate!
Is there a mermaid in your pool?
hhhhhmmmm maybe you should check just in case.
happy fouth of july tomorrow

When I made these CUTE! little earrings they reminded me of that adorable kids book my mom used to read to me the little fish that got away, so I had to name them after the book. It was one of my favorite books from when I was little and is still one of my favorites today.
